Digg is upgrading - Maybe Enterprise Digg is Next

Digg has accepted some VC funding. They are planning on adding extra capacity to deal with their tremendous traffic growth, and adding to the range of topics covered. This probably means that Digg will fragment into a Tech Digg, a Politics Digg, an Entertainment Digg and a Sports Digg.

I am hoping that it will also lead to, at least the consideration of an Enterprise Digg.

The argument for an enterprise Digg is simple:

Even if your boss hates your idea, if 200 people in the company digg your idea, the CEO has to pay attention.

An enterprise Digg could also be useful as a tool for integrating external content into a company's internal enterprise Web Office solution.

Imagine this scenario. Your company has set up an internal client blog for XYZ Inc. You see an article on XYC Inc on the NYTimes web site. You are using Flock, and you decide to digg the article. This automatically adds the article to an internal list of interesting articles. If 2 other people in the company digg the article, or if the sales lead for XYZ Inc diggs the article, it automatically gets placed, through an RSS feed, as a link on your internal client blog for XYZ Inc.
